Tomorrow sees the release of ‘Baby You’ve Been On My Mind’ from Clara Bond. This is Clara’s second release from her upcoming EP ‘Crown’, which is out on the 9th August, and once again shows what a force the Exeter born singer has become.
Clara Bond: “When I started writing Baby You’ve Been On My Mind it was a sad song, but it turned into something that was quite empowering for me. I wrote it when I met someone I knew I was meant to be with, but I was so emotionally exhausted from my last relationship, I didn’t know if I could go through all that again. I reached a point where I thought ‘screw it, I’m done being afraid to move on.’
Clara’s upcoming EP ‘Crown’ which follows her hugely successful 2016 EP ‘Out Of Towners’ has seen something of a new direction for the singer, with a shift towards an increasingly brave and mature sound, helmed by producer Chris Tilke. “This feels like a huge leap for me. I’ve finally found a sound that feels completely my own. I genuinely couldn’t be more proud of this project and the people that were involved in it,” states Clara.

ABOUT CLARA BOND
Since her previous ‘Out of Towners’ EP, Clara has spent much time on the live circuit, including supporting Lindsay Ell, Joey Landreth, Wildwood Kin’s UK tour and a spot on the Country 2 Country festival – a slot that lead to a nomination for ‘Female Vocalist of the Year’ in the British Country Music Awards. She then went on to support Newton Faulkner and to film an ‘Under the Apple Tree’ session with Radio 2’s Whispering Bob Harris, which he called “One of my favourite Under the Apple Tree session performances “. These slots enabled her to develop her skills, both as a creator and craftsman of music, and as a captivating live performer – skills that she has brought into the latest project. However, Clara is not an artist that can be pigeon-holed into one genre and is an artist with broad appeal, having been asked by BBC Introducing to record and film a full-band live session series for the entire ‘Out of Towners’ EP, she has taken an increasingly broad approach to the genre with the new release.
