Multi-Grammy award-winning trio Lady Antebellum are back with their second single this year. The band consisting of Charles Kelley, Hillary Scott, and Dave Haywood returned to form earlier this year with the release of their majorly impressive, poignant ballad ‘What If I Never Get Over You’.
The heartfelt track saw them taking their sound back to their early roots of stripped back, heartstring-pulling simple love and breakup songs. They are at their best when they strip away all the extra pop-sounding productions and just allow the acoustic sounds to drive home the lyrical message whilst allowing the divine vocal harmonies of Scott and Kelley to lead the way.
With ‘What If I Never Get Over You’ they delivered their best single since ‘Need You Now’ and showcased what fans can expect from their forthcoming album which is slated for release late this year/early 2020 and promises to be Lady Antebellum’s best body of work to date.
And today the threesome have shared the simply stunning ‘Pictures’. This is the second single to shared off Lady A’s upcoming record and once again they have made a conscious decision to maintain the old sonic style that won them an army of fans worldwide.
There are few acts who are able to consistently deliver break-up songs that pack a powerful, emotive punch quite like Lady Antebellum manage. ‘Pictures’ is all about how in the photographs a couple took during their “happy times” they looked content and in love whilst behind the scenes the relationship was breaking down.
It’s a soaring country ballad that will no doubt delight Lady Antebellum fans new and old alike. Radio friendly and emotional this single has the potential to take over the charts and become one of the trio’s biggest smashes. It’s wonderful to have the old Lady A back and this latest offering is a pure delight to listen to.
