The latest track to be made available from Miranda Lambert’s upcoming Jay Joyce produced album “Wildcard” is the Texan tinged , lilting waltz “Tequila Does”, together with it’s lyric video which I’m warning you will probably get you reaching for a bottle of the hard stuff!
Co-written by Miranda, Jon Randall and Jack Ingram, she sing about how the guys in the bar with her drinking “domestic beer” aren’t the type of cowboys she is looking for to get her “back in the saddle” . They can’t compare with the buzz she gets from her old pal tequila, and that’s who she’ll be chosing to sleep with.
Of this seventh song made available ahead of the album’s 1st November release date Miranda says “Tequila Does is country. And country music makes me happy. No matter how rock or edgy or scorned you can get, when you come back to a country song with a steel guitar, it makes my soul feel like it’s on fire“.
Miranda is currently touring Stateside on her ‘Roadside Bars and Pink Guitars’ tour (with an incredible array of all female opening artists including Pistol Annies, Ashley McBryde and Maren Morris) where the song is apparently fast becoming a fan favourite.
