York singer/songwriter Twinnie is one of the leading lights within the ever-growing UK country scene and is gaining new fans every day thanks to her insane vocal range, energetic live performances, and down-to-earth personality. Last month she wowed fans with the release of the live recording video of the heartbreakingly beautiful ‘Lie To Me’.
The clip was filmed earlier this year at the Hoxton Studios in the city of London and the stripped back setting allows for the British triple-threat to really showcase her incredible and seemingly effortless range as she belts out soaring high notes with ease.
Following the release of the live shoot, Twinnie has confirmed that the track will be getting its official release as a single off her much-anticipated debut album ‘Hollywood Gypsy’ which is set to drop early 2020 via BMG Records, this coming Friday (November 8th).
This is the only heartbreak song we can expect to find on the forthcoming LP’s tracklist and it is an absolutely stellar one at that. Twinnie’s vocals are breathtakingly stunning as she brings us into the world of heartbreak through the softly wanting lyrics that tell the story of just needing to be lied to in order to avoid heartbreak.
Speaking about the song via Social Media, the former Hollyoaks actress jokingly said: “Wrote a song about the guy that broke my [heart]. So now I’m just trying to make some money out of my pain”.
True to form the singer is always quick to make quips about herself, but in all honesty ‘Lie To Me’ is a truly heartbreaking lyrical story which combined with the soaring vocals of the York star has the ability to completely shatter your heart.
With shades of old school 90s Shania Twain, this track wouldn’t have been out of place on The Woman In Me CD soundtrack, such is its classic heartbreak country vibe: Think modern-day Home Ain’t Where His Heart Is (Anymore).
