Yesterday saw the release on Crying on the Dancefloor, the new single from Hertfordshire based, Irish artist Máiréad. The single is a co-write with Kaity Rae, an artist who we featured extensively on Belles and Gals and who played one of our earliest gigs, who now focuses on songwriting and production.
We’ve been long time fans of Máiréad, an artist who was an ambassador for Belles and Gals and whose latest single has amassed an incredible 60,000 streams on Spotify and made it onto Spotify Editorial playlists. It’s a sure thing this new single will go exactly the same way. ‘Crying on the Dancefloor’ sees the singer songwriter move into pop country territory with an exciting and enticing track – a song that reflects a real life experience when she was much younger.
As always, Máiréad’s vocals are perfect throughout, the Irish tilt in her voice made for country music, while the production lends a real fresh energy to the song. Despite the sadness of the song, that production gives the song a somewhat uplifting feel, and you’ll be moving along as you listen.
Máiréad is one of the rising stars of the scene, and this latest single only ensures that the rise will be a swift one! Check out the song below.
