UK Country music artist Jess Thristan is set to release her brand-new track ‘Worse Than Me’ this Friday (12th August). The track, co-written with songwriter and producer Kaity Rae, is beautifully emotive and lyrically exquisite. The track’s introspective reflection is unique and is an excellent example of the incredible work being produced by Thristan and Rae. Following its debut on Absolute Country Radio and ahead of it’s release, Belles and Gals present a first listen of the track below:
Speaking of the track Thristan states: “Worse Than Me is an emotional, yet powerful, song written with and produced by songwriter-producer Kaity Rae, about the pressures of self-doubt. The fear that so often keeps us caged inside with our own demons. The internal self-talk that we don’t protect ourselves from, like we would a friend. This song was written from a place of questioning why we do this to ourselves – maybe if we’re already broken we can’t be bruised? Yet, there’s something beautiful about being aware that you have the power to change the narrative inside your own mind. To rise from the doubt and the voice that tells you you’re not good enough, or that you try too hard, or your friends are laughing behind your back, and to know that there is so much more to us than what we tell ourselves we are.”
