Picture this: the iconic Octagon Girls making a dazzling entrance on the White House lawn, decked out in new red, white, and blue outfits for the UFC Freedom 250 event on June 14. These ensembles, complete with a modern twist on patriotic themes, might have even made Betsy Ross do a double-take.

Marina Toybina, the costume designer with seven Emmy Awards to her name, crafted these eye-catching creations. She explained to Maxim, “We drew inspiration from a mix of sport, spectacle, and national celebration.”

Red Dela Cruz and Chrissy Blair showcased these designs, featuring sequined bustier tops, tiny hot pants, and flashy belts adorned with the nation’s colors. There’s a mix of bold and traditional in this lineup.

On the more conventional side, one standout piece is a satin corset dress featuring star-adorned side panels and a layered skirt with stripes, reminiscent of something you might see on a “Project Runway” episode themed around Independence Day.

The collection’s showstopper? A structured bodysuit embellished with gold baroque trim, approved by none other than Trump himself, and a dramatic stars-and-stripes train. This outfit would be perfect for Wonder Woman at prom—if she decided to swap her signature metal cuffs for delicate blue opera gloves.

Blending Tradition and Modernity

In collaboration with the UFC, Toybina’s vision was to craft outfits that not only resonate with the UFC’s dynamic brand but also pay homage to the 250th anniversary festivities. “Our aim was to fuse elements of strength, sport, glamour, and American traditions into a distinctive style that’s both sophisticated and iconic,” Toybina shared with Maxim. The outfits are designed to combine athletic robustness with high fashion sensibility.

Each costume, from sleek designs to elaborate showpieces, tells a story in hues of red, white, and blue. The use of luxurious fabrics, bespoke embroidery, crystal accents, and patriotic symbols add depth, movement, and a contemporary twist to classic American elegance.

The UFC Freedom 250, aligning with both Flag Day and President Trump’s 80th birthday, promises to be a spectacular event. Headliners Ilia Topuria and Justin Gaethje will also be sporting their own patriotic gear, echoing the event’s red, white, and blue theme.
