The unexpected shift had Tinseltown reeling. “Nikki cut ties with UTA out of the blue,” a source in the entertainment industry revealed, noting that even her team was caught off guard by the move.
“It’s shocking given what UTA has done for her over the past five years,” the source expressed in disbelief.
A spokesperson for Glaser declined to comment on her change of representation.
“No one can make sense of it,” another source commented, alluding to her successful career trajectory.
A different insider shared that since joining UTA in 2018, the agency “transformed her from a well-regarded comedian into a significant cultural figure.”
Glaser departs UTA while being one of the top earners in live comedy touring. She is currently engaged in “The Stunning Tour” across North America and Europe.
She has been the sole female host to headline the Globes twice and recently hosted the controversial “Roast of Tom Brady” in 2024.
Her latest comedy special has earned three 2026 Emmy nominations, and Glaser herself has received another Emmy nomination this year as the host of the Globes.
While at UTA, Glaser secured multiple TV and film roles, including starring in Netflix’s “The Fifth Wheel” alongside Kim Kardashian, as well as the streaming giant’s animated movie “Steps.” She also pitched a movie to Paramount based on the game “MASH” [mansion, apartment, shack or house], and is working on an edgy romantic comedy with “Knocked Up” guru Judd Apatow at Universal.
Her “Alive & Unwell Tour” grossed $19.5 million over 120 shows and is set to be broadcast on Hulu.
While it was unexpected that Glaser would leave UTA, some sources mentioned she had maintained a close relationship with WME executives over the years.
UTA’s roster still includes comedians Nate Bargatze, Sebastian Maniscalco, Matt Rife, and Jim Gaffigan.
On the other hand, WME has signed Glaser to represent her in all areas, including motion pictures, scripted and unscripted television, literature, digital content, podcasting, branded ventures, lifestyle partnerships, music, consumer business, and touring. WME’s comedy lineup boasts names like Kevin Hart, Wanda Sykes, Pete Davidson, Theo Von, Bill Burr, Jimmy Kimmel, Brett Goldstein, Chris Rock, Eddie Murphy, Conan O’Brien, Adam Sandler, Amy Schumer, Aziz Ansari and more.
Glaser is set to return as the host of the Golden Globes for the third consecutive year in 2027.
The acclaimed comedian continues to be managed by Alex Murray at Brillstein and represented legally by Lev Ginsberg.
Matt Belloni of Puck shared on X yesterday as news spread: “Glaser abruptly fired her agents at UTA and signed with WME. No explanation was provided to her longtime team.”
