Spotlight on Kaity Rae

On Thursday evening Belles and Gals are hosting our second ever live gig, this time in London inside the perfect setting of the Green Note. We’re delighted with the brilliant line up, featuring Hannah Rose Platt and Kaity Rae – two artists who we confidently predict will make big waves in the industry.

Kaity Rae first came to our attention in the middle of last year when she released her “This Time Around” EP, a record we said this about “Overall, this is a highly impressive EP, especially when you consider that Kaity Rae is just 19 and it’s only her second release…” Above you can see a live recording of “Before I Knew”, the opening song to the EP – this is just brilliant. The EP didn’t just catch our eye however, as the launch of the EP was packed with people from within the industry, including Ben Earle of The Shires, who has become quite a fan of North London based Kaity.

Kaity had already built up quite a fan base by this point however. Her debut EP ‘Sparks’ made a massive impact, with over a million streams of the record, while three of her songs have appeared on ‘FolkStock’ compilation records to great reviews. Kaity has also supported the likes of Sonia Leigh and Sasha McVeigh and I for one cannot wait to see her play live on Thursday evening.

Below there are a further two live performances from Kaity. Firstly there is an appearance at the Little Rabbit Barn where she performs “When You Go”, while below that is “Spark” recorded at the Union Music Store. Both fantastic performances.

If you’d like to come and see more of Kaity, head along to the Green Note on Thursday – ticket link here
