Simon James – Broken Too Long

Today is the second day of our all-male weekend and to kick it today we start with a star of the UK country scene, Simon James. Simon is from the northwest  and has been writing music for 25 years, his writing inspired by country music and blues. Simon also organises some great UK country gigs as part of the UK Country Live project.

The featured song today is the brilliant ‘Broken Too Long’, so I asked Simon to tell me all about it:

“The song was my first release and ended up being played in over 50 countries around the world. It’s about a man who refuses to accept that his wife is leaving him. Rather than being romantic he’s frustrated and chooses to try talk her round when he deep down realises it’s over.”
