There was some great news for the UK country scene yesterday, when it was announced that Katy Hurt has launched a pledge campaign to record her new E.P ‘Somewhere Down in Winnipeg’. The campaign has got off to a flying start already, with more than 25% of the target reached within the first day. Katy has teamed up with Pledgemusic as a way to build a community around the next release – and you can quickly and easily become part of it.
The Pledges start at just £6 with an access pass, which includes behind the scenes footage and a digital download of the new release. However, if you want to get more involved, there are a variety of different ways. Perhaps you’d like a ‘surprise box’ filled with mementos for £30 or want to do a co-write with Katie via Skype for £60. At the top end, you can help Katy record an extra song for the EP and have a special thanks in the artwork for the EP for £750. How does a full band house concert sound? It’s yours anywhere in England for £1,000!
Katy is one of the real stars of the UK country scene and one of the hardest working – playing more than 100 gigs last year. She was one of my personal highlights on the pop up stages at C2C last year (check out the video above). If you’d like to get involved in the pledge campaign click the link below.
