Izzie Walsh – Take Me Back

Occasionally an artist seems to burst onto the scene. Just a couple of weeks ago I had never heard the name Izzie Walsh, but all of a sudden her name seems to be on the lips of many in and around the country music industry. Listening to her new single, ‘Take Me Back’, you can see why.

Izzie’s sound has been described as ‘Gothic Bluegrass with a hard edge her voice is amazing, strong and sensuous, compelling everyone to listen to her’ and among her influences she lists Margo Price, Johnny Cash, Old Crow Medicine Show and First Aid Kit. Most interestingly, Fleetwood Mac is also listed as an influence too, a group which was immediately brought to mind the first time I heard ‘Take Me Back’. I can’t pay Izzie and the song a higher compliment than that. Take a listen for yourself above.

Izzie might be young in years, but she is already showing a maturity way beyond that. ‘Take Me Back’ is a must buy.
