Ingrid Andress – ‘Life of the Party’ Review

One of my biggest regrets recently is missing out on seeing Ingrid Andress whilst she was in the U.K. I have loved all of her previous single releases and “Life of the Party” is no exception!

This stunning new release from her just announced debut album, “Lady Like”, which is due for release on March 27, will also include her hit country radio single “More Hearts than Mine” which made history as the only debut from a solo female to make it onto the country airplay Top 20 in 2019.

On her social media accounts, Andress says – “Y’all know I love a good party and a sad song. So just in time for Valentine’s Day, here is ‘Life Of The Party,’ a sad party anthem brought to you by me. You’re welcome.

A modern, powerful track combined with Ingrid’s stunning vocals, “Life of the Party” has a pop/country crossover vibe. Her stirring lyrics tell of a great party atmosphere “I’m laughing, I’m dancing on tables wearing sunglasses, fantastic, yeah I’m killing it” and partying until the small hours of the morning. But as the story unfolds, it becomes clear that the party is a way to escape from painful feelings about a break-up rather than an actual celebration.

Round here everybody loves me, but they don’t know that I’ve been hurting, coz baby ever since you left me, I’ve been the life of the party

Ingrid played her debut UK shows at last year’s Country 2 Country festival the the O2, London, before a short headline tour which included a sold-out London show. She begins an arena tour with Dan + Shay next month and joins Thomas Rhett for some shows in May, before heading out with Tim McGraw on his “Here on Earth’ tour.
