Black Deer Festival 2022 Line-Up Is Finalised – Including Two Additions We Particularly Love
Three years in the making following successive postponements due to the pandemic, this year’s Black Deer festival in Kent’s Eridge Park in June will definitely be well worth the wait. And there’s just been some exciting final additions to the already incredible array of artists set to perform at the three-day event. Among the names just announced are *drumroll* Grammy-nominated Nashville star Cam and UK’s own rising star Kezia Gill!
“I’m so excited to be playing Black Deer” says Kezia “It’s a whole new audience for me and I can’t wait to see how my set goes down!”
Cam will be performing as part of the festival’s intimate Songwriter Sessions, which bring artists together for a Nashville-style ‘in the round’ performance. It will be the Californian native’s first visit to the UK since the release of her stunning 2020 album “The Otherside” and of course since becoming a mother to daughter Lucy in late 2019.
Although in its infancy, the festival has already won a string of awards for its authentic celebration of Americana culture, but it is more than an appreciation of the musical genre. To quote co-founders Gill Tee and Deb Shilling:
“Black Deer is not just about hearing the music you love, it’s about discovering music you’re going to love and experiencing the unique cultural richness that surrounds this popular way of life we call Americana. The natural ingredients that complete this simple melting pot can all be found at Black Deer – from authentic smokehouse BBQ cooking and a righteous Sunday gospel brunch to the thrill of custom motorcycle culture and a connection with nature to inspire the young folk, the festival is a community gathering for those who love to get it together in the country.”
