Katseye thrives in the midst of what they call “beautiful chaos,” yet their everyday life reflects remarkable orderliness.

The team, consisting of Lara Raj, Sophia Laforteza, Daniela Avanzini, Yoonchae Jeong, and Megan Skiendiel, keeps a tight grip on their beauty, skincare, and technology staples despite their packed schedules.

Since their debut two years ago, Katseye has been on a whirlwind of activity; they have been nominated for two Grammys, claimed victories at the American Music Awards and Video Music Awards, performed at Coachella, and recently dropped their new EP titled “WILD.”

In a recent promotional run for their EP, Katseye shared their favorite beauty picks with GQ — including Laforteza’s indispensable hair tool and the eyeshadow palette that Avanzini uses for her iconic eyeliner.

Makeup by Mario Master Mattes Eyeshadow Palette

“Believe it or not, I skip the liquid liner when doing my eyeliner,” Avanzini revealed, opting for a black shadow from the Makeup by Mario palette instead. (She has even convinced the more traditionally made-up Laforteza to adopt the palette.)

Avanzini’s go-to technique: using eyeshadow instead of liquid liner for a smoky siren look.

“I prefer a slightly smoky look,” she explained. “Plus, using eyeshadow is so much easier. If there’s a slip-up, just grab a Q-tip and erase it.”

“For every makeup look, my eyeliner must be done this way, and I always apply it myself,” she continued. “No matter who I’m working with, I insist on doing it myself.”

She begins by using a black pencil to tight-line her eyes, then uses the eyeshadow to draw a triangle at the inner corners for a “siren look.”

Aquaphor Advanced Therapy Healing Ointment

Laforteza, who has used “at least 50” tubes of Aquaphor, shared that she relied heavily on the ointment while she was on Accutane for nearly two years.

“When Katseye first started, fans constantly speculated about my lip care routine,” she reminisced. “Most times, it was simply Aquaphor on my lips.”

“I still apply a thick layer on my lips every night, even though I’m no longer on Accutane,” she added. “When I wake up and wipe it off, the feeling is incredibly satisfying. I can’t stand it if my lips aren’t glossy and moisturized.”

She also mentioned that she enjoys personalizing each tube with stickers, a habit that Raj occasionally borrows for decorating with bindis.

Laforteza credits her lustrous hair to her “best friend,” the Dyson Airwrap.

The group relies on foam rollers daily before rehearsals to soothe sore muscles from intensive dance routines.

“I own several because they don’t all work internationally, and since we began touring, I made sure to get one that works worldwide,” she explained. “I use it before bed, when I wake up, and for touch-ups. It’s essential for maintaining healthy hair.”

TriggerPoint Grid 1.0 Foam Roller

“We get injured at times, and since we dance a lot, this is a lifesaver,” Avanzini praised. “It’s incredible. Just roll out your muscles when they’re sore or if you have a stiff neck or back.”

The group keeps various sizes of foam rollers and uses them every morning before rehearsals, especially when practicing challenging dance routines.

Vama Designer Bindi Book

Raj is passionate about showcasing her Indian heritage and often expresses this pride by wearing a bindi in every performance.

“They come in a little book. I have so many… some are from India, brought by my grandparents, or from my visits there. It’s like a sticker book, but filled with bindis,” she explained.

She described wearing bindis as a way to “enlighten” and “bring light within,” adding, “I use them as a fashion statement, particularly on stage or during major events. It always complements my outfit. It’s a reflection of my mood that day, but wearing one is a must. It holds deep, sacred significance in Hinduism.”

Wedderspoon Raw Monofloral Mānuka Honey MGO 150+

To keep their voices in prime condition, the members regularly turn to tea and manuka honey. (Their popular track “Pinky Up” even references their fondness for tea.)

“We just take a spoonful of the honey and eat it straight,” Raj shared. “It coats your throat and really enhances your singing.”

Open Box Beats by Dr. Dre Studio Buds

Raj, known for her bold voice and personality, chooses headphones that reflect her style. Though her favorite over-the-ear Beats are currently sold out, she opts for similarly colored earbuds from the brand.

“I listen to music on these headphones every time I journal,” she said, noting her affinity for Erykah Badu, whose lyrics she has tattooed on her arm. “She’s my all-time favorite artist.”
