In HBO’s latest Sunday night addition, “Rooster,” which debuts tonight, March 8, the beloved actor from “The Office” takes the lead. This new half-hour comedy series is brought to viewers by Bill Lawrence, known for his work on hit shows like “Scrubs,” “Shrinking,” and “Ted Lasso.”
In “Rooster,” Carell portrays Greg Russo, a bestselling author who finds himself entangled in his daughter’s (played by Charly Clive) complex life at the university where she is a professor and wrestling with her own romantic dilemmas.
The cast also includes Danielle Deadwyler, John C. McGinley—familiar to many as a “Scrubs” veteran—and Phil Dunster, recognizable from his role in “Ted Lasso,” another Lawrence creation.
