Lindi Ortega – Ashes

I make little secret of the fact that Belles and Gals was launched just a couple of weeks after I was inspired to get more involved in country music after attending a Lindi Ortega gig. I’ve been a fan of Lindi since her “Little Red Boots” album and it’s my opinion that each successive album has just got better and better. I didn’t think anything could top her “Tin Star” album, but for me “Faded Gloryville” achieves this – it was one of those albums that took a few listens at first, but when I got it, I really got it…! Let’s hope Lindi re-appears in the UK someday soon – who knows what she’ll inspire me to next time (and a gold star to anyone who picked up on the song title in the last line!).
