Sarah Watson – A Mother’s Guilt

Occasionally you come across a real gem of a record and this happened to me last week when I came across Sarah Watson’s new E.P. ‘A Mother’s Guilt’. According to her bio, ‘Born and raised in Wales, singing in choirs, pubs and Eisteddfods, Sarah took a 20 year break from writing and performing, only to discover the voice and soul of a country singer when she finally returned to music.’

Sarah has one of the purest and emotive voices you’ll ever come across and you could be forgiven for thinking that is an E.P. from an artist who has honed her skills for all of that twenty year break. Sarah is a welcome addition to the UK country scene – I became a fan instantly.
