The Wandering Hearts at BBC Proms in the Park – 8th September 2018
The Wandering Hearts are the 4-piece Americana-Folk group that have been storming the UK over the past year and a half. With their brilliant debut album ‘Wild Silence’ under their belts, they have seen a demand for their live performances across the UK and in the US. The BBC have been incredibly supportive of the group and this support continued recently with a set at the BBC proms in the park at Hyde Park in London.
40,000 people were present for the set, as well as a huge number of listeners on the simultaneous radio broadcast of the set on the Zoe Ball show on BBC Radio 2. The group walked onto the stage with an air of confidence despite the incredibly large crowd. Opening with ‘Rattle’, it was evident immediately that the Wandering Hearts were ready to impress. With effortless harmonies and the incredible powerful vocal prowess of AJ it was a brilliant sight to behold. Following ‘Rattle’ was ‘Burning Bridges’. Evidently loving every moment on the stage, the groups brilliant harmonies and vocals continued with growing brilliance. The brilliant musicianship of Tim, the incredible harmonies of Tara and Chess (which are some of the best in the business) topped of with the great vocal performance by AJ led to a truly captivating performance.
To complete the short and sweet set was ‘Till the Day I Die’. It was here were it was strikingly obvious as to how the group came to be discovered, and signed to a label, in such a short space of time when the effortless display of vocal alignment and musical talent combined to make such a short set so incredibly memorable.
If you have the chance, then I definitely recommend seeing the Wandering Hearts live. Checkout their upcoming UK tour this November and December.
