Lucy Blu’s ‘Row Your Own’ – Out today!

Today sees the release of Lucy Blu’s fantastic new single ‘Row Your Own’. The song has certainly made an impact already, as while I write this it sits at number two on the UK iTunes country chart! If you’re reading this and you want to give it a push towards that top spot – click here and download it!

Following on from Lucy’s hit single ‘Only Just Begun’, ‘Row Your Own’ sends out a great message to those people who uninvited get involved in other people’s business and criticise – it’s got a nice slice of attitude which adds a sense of fun, with Lucy’s trademark on-point vocals underlining the message. It’s been a great few months for Lucy, with a fantastic headline show in London and just yesterday it was announced that she’ll be playing at the Long Road Festival. Lucy has become a regular feature at Belles and Gals shows too, with two appearances already (and there just might be another announcement soon!). With songs as good as this one, it looks certain that this success will continue!

I asked Lucy where the song came from. “It was born from being totally fed up with those who constantly rain on other people’s parades” (she also explained that her quote was the non-explicit version! – we hear ya Lucy!)

Song Lyrics

You ain’t impressing
No one with your messing
Your bickering, your name-calling, your spite

You might feel clever
But baby no one ever
Won the war by playing a dirty fight

No one invited, your criticising
Why speak when you’ve got nothing nice to say
Find where you’re heading, and go reel your net in
Instead of picking holes, and rocking other boats
Just row your own

A little bit of chatter
Don’t really matter
It don’t do too much harm

You deal in dishing dirt
You get off on causing hurt
Why you gotta go too far?

No one invited, your criticising
Why speak when you’ve got nothing nice to say
Find where you’re heading, and go reel your net in
Instead of picking holes, and rocking other boats
Just row your own

Maybe one day you will see
Still waters they run deep
And you won’t fix yourself by breaking me

No one invited, your criticising
Why speak when you’ve got nothing nice to say
Find where you’re heading, and go reel your net in
Instead of picking holes, and rocking other boats
Just row your own

Oh,
Baby just row your own
