Kerri Watt News
All of us are having to adjust our lives in some way or other due to the current pandemic, and for Glaswegian singer/songwriter Kerri Watt part of that has been looking at how best to release her planned debut album. The result is that she has taken the tough decision to delay putting out this project in its entirety for a while.
Coupled with this announcement Kerri has released a fabulously atmospheric new video for the single, which was filmed during lockdown. The song was actually one of the first she ever wrote, and the influences of artists she was listening to at the time, including Sheryl Crow, Dolly Parton and Johnny Cash shine through. While Kerri is known for writing songs about her true life experiences, she can also dream up a compelling fictional tale which is exactly what she has given us here.
This new format of EP releases actually means that we will be getting even more recorded music from Kerri than originally planned! She says of the decision ” I’ve waited such a long time to release my debut album, so when we went into lockdown a few months before it was due was pretty gutting. Releasing an album with no live shows to promote it, and without getting to interact with the incredible fans that have been on this long journey with me didn’t feel right” continuing ” I had the idea to keep putting out little nuggets from the album in the form of EP’s giving more glimpses into the style of the album”.
Kerri will be playing the following streamed concerts in the coming weeks , with more to be announced.
