Louise Parker’s ‘Just Friends’ – Out tomorrow!
It’s been a big year for Belles and Gals managed Louise Parker. The end of 2019 saw Louise in the US writing and recording, ready to hit the ground running on her return to the UK at Christmas time. While Covid-19 has had an effect on the Essex-based singer songwriter (she had to postpone a UK tour in April, which would have been met by a big release), in many ways she has still managed to flourish. Louise quickly moved to regular live streams – a format she had become used to as a way of connecting with her UK fans while in the US. These streams have seen her profile rise, as have the success of her last two singles. ‘If You Want Me To’, a co-write with Joey Clarkson pierced the top five of the iTunes UK Country Chart, before her first solo release of the year, ‘Lie To Me’, hit the number 2 spot!
‘Just Friends’ is a song about those moments late at night, when you’re alone and missing someone. The song tells the tale of texting someone and inviting them over – with the aim of rekindling a relationship that had seemingly gone down the friend zone route. ‘I don’t wanna be Just Friends‘. The song really shows off the character of the UK Country Music Award nominated artist, while the production is simply excellent, with violin and brass added into the mix to give it an all-encompassing sound.

I wrote this song in 2018 and have performed it live across the UK/USA, but decided to record and release now after encouragement from my fans. Over the past two years it has become a firm favourite in my sets and, coupled with my cheeky nature, affords me the opportunity to have fun and not take myself too seriously.’
Louise’s third release of the year has already garnered an incredible amount of radio play, with countless independent stations joining national radio and BBC play across a number of counties. This is another step forward for Louise, who is making a huge mark on the scene in 2020 – there seems to be no sign of this letting up!
