Introducing Emily Blackbird – Debut Single “Ordinary Dream Girl” Out Now

Born and raised in California, Emily Blackbird is now bringing her own modern and unique twist to the Nashville music scene. The self-described rhinestone rock-n-roll cowgirl comes from a family where everyone played an instrument, her grandfather actually built guitars, so there’s no surprise about her choice of career path and she has already performed at iconic venues including Bluebird Cafe and The Listening Room.

Having just completed production of her new album which will be released later this year, her mature, edgy and sultry sound is showcased on the lead single “Ordinary Dream Girl” which is out now along with the accompanying lyric video.

The solo write bares her personal struggles when it comes to being an up-and-coming artist, as Emily explains “I wanted to tell my story in the most authentic and honest way I could. It didn’t feel real, being in Nashville and getting the chance to work with a team. It really was a dream come true“. She continues “‘Ordinary Dream Girl’ is a song for everyone to remember that opportunities don’t always come when you’re comfortable, but you have to seize the day and rise to the occasion“. Excellent advice for sure.
The team to which she refers to are Grammy – nominated producer Kent Wells who has worked with artists including Dolly Parton, Mark Needham who mixed the album and Michael Denton who was in charge of mastering.
The single sets the perfect tone for what to expect from Emily’s future project, she has an amazing ability to tackle complex subjects in a way which makes them accessible and relatable to the listener. I must say that based on this debut I am really excited to hear what comes next from this rising country artist.
