Recently crowned ACM “Entertainer of the Year”, Miranda Lambert has revealed another song from her upcoming eight studio album “Palomino” (release set for 29th April). “Actin’ Up“, a cheeky, mid-tempo anthem which she co-wrote with Luke Dick and Jon Randall, is the project’s opener and is released as album track “If I Was A Cowboy” continues to climb the Top 20 at US Country radio and Miranda’s Grammy nominated collaboration with Elle King, “Drunk ( And I Don’t Wanna Go Home)” hits Top 3 .
With “Palomino“, Miranda has crafted a record that explores the world and the people in it, seeking beauty and adventure all around, and while it’s primarily fictional characters leading the way the Texan native’s own identity emerges lyrically in the second verse of “Actin’ Up” as she sings “I got my own kind of Country, Kind of funky“…and indeed there’s a fair bit of funk in the track’s production, listen here https://ml.lnk.to/palomino
Having recently headlined in style at the C2C festival here in the UK of course, Miranda is set to head to Las Vegas for her 24 date “Velvet Rodeo” residency later this year, which like the forthcoming album’s title takes its name from the chorus of this latest single…
“I want a sunset ride
A velvet rodeo
A Colorado High
A California Glow
Want to see the desert from a painted palomino
Señorita need to have a little fun
I’m actin’ up”
She is also set to join forces with Little Big Town to co-headline this Spring’s US ” The Bandwagon Tour” .
