Kelsey Waldon : Album and UK Tour News!

Following on from her critically acclaimed album “WhiteNoise/White Lines“, which landed on several “Best of 2019” lists, Kelsey Waldon has announced that her fourth studio album, “No Regular Dog” will be released on August 12th (pre-order here https://orcd.co/noregulardog). It’s the Kentucky native’s second album on the late John Prine’s Oh Boy Records, and features eleven tracks which are rooted in deep self-reflection including  “Season’s Ending” which is a tribute to her mentor and “Simple As Love“, the first love song she’s ever written. Working with produced Shooter Jennings, the album was recorded in Los Angeles’ Dave’s Room Studio and features both Kelsey and Shooter together with Kelsey’s touring band alongside several special guests.

While greatly influenced by the sounds of the past, the record highlights the depth of Kelsey’s musicality taking inspiration from mid-century bluegrass, ’60s soul and ’70s country-rock, with Shooter Jennings describing  Kelsey as “a top shelf artist who feels a deep responsibility to country music, the preservation of its history and the quality of its future“.
Reflecting on the new record, Kelsey shares “I hope that these songs are able to live with people and help make the world a little better, because I think that’s a big part of what my job is. At the end of the day, I’m so grateful for my passion for music because it’s sustained me throughout my whole life, and now I want it to do the same for other people. And if anyone’s struggling, i hope they can recognise the ‘No Regular Dog’ within themselves, and start to see how much they’re really worth“.

In advance of the album release, the song “Sweet Little Girl“, together with its official music video, is available now, a song Kelsey intriguingly says is “in part about me, but perhaps it’s also about you. It’s about the rage and unrest inside during a process to find healing. It’s simply just about a gal who is trying to find her way back ‘ home‘”.

In celebration of the new music, Kelsey will embark on her extensive US “No Regular Dog Tour” later this year but is also part of the Oh Boy Records Goes To Europe Tour, alongside Emily Scott Robinson and Arlo McKinley, dates as follows
