“Now, I’ve reached a level of peace with my career, but getting here wasn’t easy,” Juliette shared. Breaking into the coveted niche of culinary influence required her to build a reputation from scratch. Right after graduating during the COVID pandemic, this dessert and wine enthusiast started a Youtube channel featuring unique pairings of wine and desserts. Although the feedback was positive, it wasn’t profitable. “I began to explore ways to monetize it,” she explained. This led to the launch of a subscription box offering a bottle of wine paired with a dessert suggestion. Despite its intriguing concept, it didn’t meet financial expectations. Driven by unwavering determination and support, Juliette ventured into creating her own event company: Vins & Pâtisseries. “I would visit clients with my desserts and wines, and conduct the tasting myself.” While there was interest, the logistics were daunting and the long hours weren’t always rewarding, she admits. Nevertheless, Juliette persevered, continuing to share her wine and dessert pairings and recipes on Instagram. Gradually, her follower count soared, catching the attention of brands, and kick-starting her influence marketing career. “Now, I primarily earn through partnerships, she notes, which might be brands seeking content or companies hiring me to host events, like expos.” As for finances? “They vary, but I typically pay myself around $2,500 a month,” says the entrepreneur, who now also mentors an intern.

Juliette is well aware that living off one’s passion is no easy journey. It’s a path filled with doubts, trials, failures, and successes. She had to demonstrate tenacity to carve out her niche. Beyond the beautiful images on Instagram lies hours of hard work, continual adjustments, and an often uncertain reality. Yet, today, she has found her balance and keeps moving forward, driven by her community and a love for sharing.
