To achieve this culinary feat, he uses a common household item: a tea strainer. Jimmy places this fine mesh strainer on the edge of his pot so that it dips into the boiling water. He stabilizes it with a spoon so it stays in place on its own, then he cracks the egg directly into it, like placing it in a tiny basket. The egg is submerged in the water but is confined within the strainer, much like a fish caught in a net. It can’t escape!
