Kelsey Grammer considers himself a devotee of classic literature.

“I make it a point to read a bit every day,” Grammer explained, whose latest publication, “Karen: A Brother Remembers,” is currently available. He continued, “I might pick up a book at random or one I’ve read before and skim through it.”

The celebrated actor from “Frasier” mentioned, “I also make it a routine to read the Bible daily.”

Here are six books Grammer recommends.

“A Passage to India” by E. M. Forster

“An extraordinary exploration of cultural intersections and affections — the Marabar Caves are the highlight for me. It’s like watching a spark meet its end in its own reflection.”

AMAZON $13.99 $10.53

The Bible

“The Bible serves as a guide for understanding life and the challenges we encounter. It reflects the human quest for a sense of belonging in the cosmos.”

AMAZON $24.99 $12.61

“The History of Tom Jones, A Foundling” by Henry Fielding

“Reading this was one of the most enriching experiences of my life. Henry Fielding’s work is filled with frivolity, abundance, and mischief — a celebration of life, laughter, and the struggles we face.”

AMAZON $12.00 $11.16

“Karen: A Brother Remembers” by Kelsey Grammer

“Writing ‘Karen’ was a journey, a quest I needed to complete. Looking back, I feel immense pride in this work.”

AMAZON $31.99 $22.38

“Moby Dick” by Herman Melville

“This narrative plunges you into a very specific moment in history where you feel as though you are on the open sea, battling the whale alongside the characters, and wrestling with your own inner demons.”

AMAZON $16.00 $14.19

“Where Angels Fear to Tread” by E. M. Forster

“Yet another notable work by E. M. Forster that I discuss in ‘Karen.’ It compares an English tenor’s restrained style to the unrestrained passion of an Italian tenor, using it as a metaphor for the broader English culture.”
