Sarah Silverman caused quite a stir by spontaneously kissing Joy Behar on a recent episode of “The View.”

The unexpected peck occurred as Silverman was wrapping up her time on the show. Behar sentimentally noted, “It’s always fun to see you,” to which Silverman enthusiastically replied, “I love seeing you!”

Whoopi Goldberg, another host of the show, chimed in with, “Do you want to do the goodbye?” That’s when Silverman, age 54, leaned forward and planted a quick kiss on Behar’s lips.

Following the kiss, the “Maestro” star pressed her lips together, remarking, “Mmmmm,” as applause broke out from the audience.

Amid the reactions, Ana Navarro playfully asked, “How’s her breath?” This referred back to an earlier part of the episode where Silverman had noticed mints on the table and Behar mentioned her preference for keeping them handy.

“I need fresh breath!” declared Behar, who is 82.

Silverman then shared a humorous tactic from a friend for addressing someone’s bad breath. “You know my friend Todd Glass always says,” Silverman began, “‘I wonder what like a thousand Tic Tacs would taste like.’”

Following the kiss between Silverman and Behar, co-host Sara Haines cleverly revisited the joke, quipping, “I wonder what it’s like to have a thousand Tic Tacs right now.”

The “Saturday Night Live” alum recently debuted her Netflix special, “PostMortem,” on May 20, which pays tribute to her late parents.

Despite a career focused on humor, Silverman recently shared a deep personal tragedy — the death of her three-month-old brother before her birth. This occurred while he was in the care of their paternal grandparents. “The story was that something happened with the crib, and Jeffrey’s little body slid and he got suffocated,” Silverman disclosed in a Sunday interview with Rolling Stone.

“However, looking back, there was never a lawsuit against the crib company or anything,” she added. Silverman revealed that her father, Donald, only shared the presumed truth after having seen her film “Bedwetter,” which joked about the infant’s death. “My dad says, ‘I always felt that he was crying or something, and my dad shook him,’” Silverman recounted. “‘He shook him in rage and killed him.’”

Nevertheless, Silverman finds solace in her comedic work, which often leads to impromptu moments like her on-air kiss with Behar.

“Yeah, comedy is the relief valve,” she explained in the interview. “There is a time and a place for it, but sometimes the worst and most inappropriate times are exactly when it’s needed most.”
