This bizarre French customer habit is driving shop owners crazy
She openly discusses aging and her views on beauty. Here are her candid thoughts.
Alessandra Sublet appears more fulfilled and in tune with herself than ever as she nears her 50th birthday. Glowing, liberated from societal pressures, and freer than before, the former TV host embraces a beauty ideal that shuns superficiality. In a recent interview with Gala, published on February 26, she shared her honest feelings about aging and how she perceives her reflection in the mirror.
Sublet, who will turn 50 in October, openly expresses her affection for her age—a rare admission in an industry where appearance often rules and aging is seen as a detriment. Having left television four years ago, she approaches this milestone with disarming serenity, as looks have never been her focus. “I have never liked wearing makeup,” she admits, likening herself to the character from the series Punky Brewster: “As a teen, I was a bit like her.” A free spirit from the start, far removed from glamorous standards. Even today, she insists that pretense doesn’t suit her: “With makeup, I feel like I look 20 years older. In heels, 30 years older,” she states. The same goes for her hair: “And styled with a blowout, I almost look like a senior!” says the forty-something.
Sublet has never been one for elaborate makeup or beauty routines. She champions a natural aesthetic—minimal makeup, maximum authenticity—a trend that many celebrities are also embracing these days.
For the attractive brunette, the real secret lies in inner balance. “What’s important is to lead a healthy life and stay true to oneself. Approaching 50, I feel like a teenager… with a credit card,” she shares. After all, age is more a state of mind than a number!
