During a visit to our New York City office on Tuesday to create some engaging videos (stay tuned!) and promote her latest publication, “I’ll Have What She’s Having,” Chelsea was greeted with a large birthday cake adorned with sprinkles and candles, much to her surprise.
The beloved former host of “Chelsea Lately” beamed with joy as employees of the New York Post serenaded her with a birthday song. She warmly thanked everyone present, expressing her appreciation with repeated thanks to Page Six.
Celebration and Wishes
Dressed casually in a brown sweater and jeans, the celebrated comedian excitedly made a birthday wish and blew out her candles. She humorously hinted at her wish involving a man before putting out the candlelight.
Earlier that day, Handler had taken to Instagram to celebrate turning 50. She posted a video of herself skiing in a striking red bikini, embracing the milestone with her characteristic boldness.
“Today is the day I turn 50!” she announced in her post on Tuesday. “Today is also the day my 7th book, I’LL HAVE WHAT SHE’S HAVING, is released.”
She encouraged her followers to share her book with “someone you love who needs a little boost or injection of confidence.” Adding a playful note, she said, “If you want the recipe, baby I got it!!” and expressed gratitude towards the women who joined her in skiing in bikinis.

Numerous celebrities extended their birthday wishes to Handler via the comments on her post. Naomi Watts cheered, “Here for THIS happy birthday queen!!” Jenna Bush Hager affectionately added, “Love you sissy! happiest 5-0,” while Jewel exclaimed, “Happy birthday, you bad ass babe!” with a heart and fire emoji. Elizabeth Banks chimed in with a simple, “HBD .”
Chelsea’s tradition of skiing in a bikini to celebrate her birthday continued this year, following similar celebrations for her 49th and 48th birthdays. On her 47th birthday, she took it a step further by skiing topless.
As part of the ongoing promotion for “I’ll Have What She’s Having,” Handler is set to tour various cities across the nation. Her book tour commenced this week with its first event in Northvale, NJ.
