Clive Davis’ Prestigious Pre-Grammy Party: A Sole Celebration Amid LA Wildfires

The much-anticipated annual pre-Grammy party hosted by Clive Davis is set to be the highlight of Grammy week, as the Los Angeles wildfires have led to the cancellation of numerous other events in the lead-up to the most awaited night in music.

The Recording Academy and MusiCares’ leaders, CEO Harvey Mason Jr. and board chair Tammy Hurt, confirmed on Monday that the Grammy Awards will take place as scheduled.

It’s also confirmed that both Davis’ exclusive party and the MusiCares annual gala will proceed despite the challenges.

2023 marks a significant milestone for Davis, celebrating his 50th year hosting this illustrious event, which he co-presents with the Recording Academy on the night before the Grammy Awards.

The details of the guest list and the lineup for Davis’ gala are traditionally kept under wraps to maintain the element of surprise.

Grammys Telecast to Embrace a Higher Purpose

This year, the Grammys broadcast is set to embrace a heightened sense of mission, with plans to “raise additional funds to support wildfire relief efforts and to honor the bravery and dedication of the first responders who risk their lives to protect ours,” according to a statement from Mason and Hurt.

In line with this spirit, Davis’ event will also include a philanthropic effort aimed at supporting those affected by the wildfires.

The Recording Academy and MusiCares have already committed $1 million to assist music industry professionals who have been impacted by the fires.

The devastating wildfires remain a central concern across the music industry. Major labels such as Sony, Warner Music Group, Universal Music Group, and BMG have all called off their Grammy week events in light of the disaster.

Additionally, Universal Music artist The Weeknd canceled his Jan. 25 concert at the Rose Bowl and delayed the release of his new album to Jan. 31.

The artist expressed on Instagram his commitment to aiding the recovery and rebuilding efforts in the affected communities.

At his gala, Davis is set to honor Jody Gerson, the CEO of Universal Music Publishing Group.

Efforts to contact a representative for Davis for further comments were not immediately successful.
