Connie Britton Launches New Series “The Motherhood”
Connie Britton’s latest TV project, “The Motherhood,” has been likened to “Queer Eye,” but with a special focus on single mothers.

“That’s a succinct, accurate way to put it,” Britton shared with Page Six at a recent event celebrating the new Hallmark Channel show, set to debut on May 5.
The creative forces behind both “The Motherhood” and “Queer Eye” are the same, with Scout Productions spearheading production.
Britton praised the production team, stating, “Their formula was exactly right for the type of story I wanted to bring to life. They’re a big part of why this show turned out so great.”
Although not typically a reality TV viewer, the 58-year-old “Friday Night Lights” actress enjoys “Queer Eye” because it strikes a chord with what she seeks in entertainment. She explained that the show’s emotional resonance and transformative stories appealed to her.
Inside “The Motherhood”
Each episode of “The Motherhood” focuses on a different single mom. Britton, alongside a trio of advisors known as “The Neighbor Ladies,” delves into the unique challenges faced by each mother, working together to craft a tailored support strategy.
Britton, who has been linked romantically to producer David Windsor since 2019, was inspired to create the show after adopting her now 14-year-old son Yoby from Ethiopia, while she was single. “Becoming a mom then immediately relocating to Nashville for ‘Nashville’ left me without any support network,” she recounted.
Britton cautions that the show is an emotional rollercoaster. “It’s hard to watch an episode without laughing or crying,” she said, emphasizing the importance of showcasing genuine human emotions and shared experiences through the series.
A Milestone and a Missed Opportunity
2023 marks Britton’s third decade in the entertainment industry. Despite her long-standing career, she finds it odd that she has never been approached to endorse a haircare product. “It’s about time, don’t you think?” she joked, hoping to see this change soon, given her iconic red hair and distinguished filmography.
