Desperate for a Marriage Proposal? Try This Chicken Dish!

Have you been waiting patiently for your significant other to pop the question? Maybe it’s time to whip up this chicken dish—it just might speed things up…

Longing for a Commitment

It’s been a decade. A decade of navigating life’s highs and lows together. Over these ten years, you’ve come to love not just their virtues but also their little quirks (without which, truthfully, they wouldn’t be the same). In short, you’ve found your “soulmate,” as people say. Naturally, thoughts of walking down the aisle to the tune of a wedding march, saying “I do” through thick and thin, and being showered with rice have crossed your mind more than once. But will that dream moment ever come?

Although eager, your other half seems hesitant to make a move. Obviously, you can’t force their hand, but who says you can’t nudge fate a bit? Why not try your hand at cooking a delicious meal that might just set the right mood? After all, isn’t that the purpose behind the “Marry Me Chicken”? Originating in the 2010s, this American-style creamy chicken dish wasn’t named by accident: some say it’s so delicious that it could make anyone propose to the cook…

Mastering the Recipe

To put this theory to the test, follow the recipe from @lindoush_food to the letter. Start by massaging two chicken breasts with smoked paprika, cayenne pepper, garlic powder, black pepper, chicken bouillon powder, and Italian seasoning. Then, cut them into pieces and pan-fry until golden brown. Set aside. Next, cook 300g of short pasta (like penne) in a large pot of boiling salted water, following the package instructions, and reserve a ladle of the pasta water for later use.

Now for the sauce: in the same pan used for the chicken, melt a knob of butter and sauté a finely chopped onion. Add 5-6 chopped sun-dried tomatoes and a tablespoon of tomato paste. Deglaze the pan with the reserved pasta water, then pour in 200ml of heavy cream. Season with the same spices used for the chicken to taste. Add the cooked chicken back into the sauce along with a couple of handfuls of baby spinach. Finally, incorporate the pasta, toss everything together to coat well, and serve immediately with a sprinkle of grated Parmesan. The choice is yours whether to reveal your intentions by naming the dish…

A Culinary Love Spell or a Covert Declaration?

Whether it’s a gastronomic love spell or a veiled declaration, the “Marry Me Chicken” certainly stacks the odds in your favor. At the very least, you’ll have shared a delightful and cozy meal. At best, you might just receive the long-awaited proposal… right on your dinner plate. After all, they say the way to a person’s heart is through their stomach.
