During an interview on SiriusXM’s Page Six Radio, the 49-year-old “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” personality discussed her new memoir, “Unburdened,” and updated hosts Danny Murphy and Evan Real about her current friendship status with 54-year-old Jayne. According to Kemsley, their friendship is in a much better place now.
Kemsley first reached out to Jayne regarding Jayne’s legal issues, and Jayne responded promptly. A few weeks later, Jayne initiated contact, suggesting they meet up in person.
“There’s a great deal of affection there,” she expressed. “We share a lot of history together.”
“Before that incident in Italy, Erika and I never had any issues,” she added. “We’ve always gotten along well.”
Kemsley noted that the altercation was emotional, and mentioned that the past few years have been tough due to her public divorce from PK Kemsley and her falling out with fellow “RHOBH” cast member Kyle Richards.
“I really thought Kyle and I had moved past our issues,” she explained. “So, feeling blindsided by Erika in Italy felt similar to the surprises I faced with Kyle.”
Kemsley recounted how, the night before their argument, she was in Jayne’s room chatting until 2 a.m., and everything seemed fine between them.
“But the next day, in this remote town, it seemed like her goal might have been to reconcile Kyle and me, but it ended up feeling more like a trap,” she recounted.
The intense argument among Kemsley, Jayne, and Richards during Season 15 of “RHOBH” continued into the reunion show. It began when Jayne criticized Kemsley for arriving late to a dinner in Italy, which escalated into a more personal confrontation.
Kemsley eventually called Jayne a harsh name before leaving the dinner abruptly.
In December, Richards, aged 57, told Us Weekly that she and Jayne were still not communicating with Kemsley.
“Erika and I have stopped speaking to Dorit because our disagreement during the cast trip was significant,” Richards explained. “Dorit doesn’t seem willing to consider other perspectives, and once she makes up her mind, that’s the end of it.”
“It’s incredibly challenging to converse with her. We attempted to mend things, but it always felt like taking two steps forward and three steps back.”
Kemsley’s book, “Unburdened,” is available in bookstores now.
