It appears that a new version of Taylor Swift’s first album might be released shortly.
This Monday, the Grammy Museum unveiled the complete video from “The Icon Sessions with Taylor Swift: A 20-Year Retrospective,” a special event organized by the Recording Academy’s Songwriters & Composers Wing on August 18.
During the event, which lasted nearly an hour and featured a songwriting conversation with Recording Academy CEO Harvey Mason Jr. and an acoustic set, Swift chose an outfit that echoed her early days in country music from the mid-2000s.
Dôen Nelida Dress
The dress’s “green jasper” color, along with its romantic ruffles and a floral corsage at one shoulder, evoked memories of the aesthetic and color scheme of her 2006 debut album, “Taylor Swift,” which included popular tracks like “Our Song,” “Tim McGraw,” and “Teardrops on My Guitar.”
“That’s the most debut dress to ever debut,” one fan commented on X, while another noted, “The dress is definitely debut green.”
“Green dress? Debut TV [Taylor’s Version] is around the corner, guys,” another fan speculated.
Swift wore Retrouvaí diamond earrings, an Effy Jewelry tennis bracelet, and her Kindred Lubeck-designed engagement ring from her husband Travis Kelce, complete with a brand-new diamond wedding band.
During her conversation with Mason, Swift reflected on her beginnings in Nashville.
“The more I progress along this path, the more I appreciate my country roots,” Swift expressed. “I feel increasingly connected and loyal to those roots — to the people who have shaped me as an artist and as a writer.”
With the 20th anniversary of her album “Taylor Swift” approaching on October 24, there’s growing excitement that Swift might soon release her updated version, which she’s had ready for over a year.
“I’ve already rerecorded my entire debut album. And I’m really loving how it sounds now,” Swift shared in a May 2025 letter, announcing that she had finally obtained her master recordings.
Recently, landmarks like New York’s Empire State Building and Dallas’ Reunion Tower were lit up in green, the signature color of Swift’s debut album, with their social media teasing fans with cryptic messages saying, “WhaTS happening?” using Swift’s initials.
The clever use of capital letters caused a buzz among fans.
While fans eagerly anticipate the release of “Taylor Swift (Taylor’s Version),” which remains unconfirmed, they were treated to her acoustic performance at the Grammy Museum event.
Seated at the same flower-decorated piano she used on the Eras Tour, Swift performed a medley of “I Knew It, I Knew You,” “August,” and “All Too Well.”
