In the thrilling horror movie “Obsession,” directed by Curry Barker, Lawless portrays Sarah Harper, a sensible counterbalance to her friends Bear (played by Michael Johnston) and Nikki (played by Inde Navarrette) as they navigate a dangerous and intense romantic entanglement. Her character, marked by an alt-goth look with tattoos, a septum piercing, and dark lipstick, surprisingly combines this with a deep empathy, adding a poignant touch to her eventual tragic end.
Off the screen, however, Lawless’ personal style is strikingly different from that of her character. Styled by Amanda Lim, her recent appearances for the press have showcased an array of outfits from vintage pieces by Vivienne Westwood and Dolce & Gabbana to a luxurious archival velvet gown by Haider Ackermann for the film’s premiere in Los Angeles.
