Parenting Woes in the Spotlight
Sara Haines, co-host of “The View,” candidly shared her challenges with intimacy due to frequent interruptions from her three young children. Discussing her personal life during a recent episode of the talk show, the 48-year-old former “GMA” host revealed that the most peaceful opportunities for intimacy with her husband, Max Shifrin, happen during vacations, simply because their small children aren’t there.

Joy Behar, another panelist on the show, humorously commented on the absence of children, to which Haines responded with a laugh, admitting that turning into ‘mom mode’ is anything but alluring.
Struggling for Privacy
Behar, aged 83 and a mother herself, suggested that locking the bedroom door might be a solution. However, Haines was quick to dismiss the idea, explaining that her kids would just knock incessantly on the door.
As the conversation continued, another co-host proposed distracting the children with video games as a temporary fix. Haines, however, expressed that nothing seemed to work. She elaborated that even when they resort to letting the kids have video games and snacks, her children still demand immediate attention, disrupting any chance of intimacy.
Haines humorously likened the situation to having a mood-killing phone call from one’s parents just as one settles in for a relaxing evening.
Intimacy and Household Chores
Haines has previously spoken about her bedroom dilemmas on “The View.” In a 2024 episode, she disclosed using intimacy as a strategy to discuss household responsibilities with her husband. Post-intimacy, she finds herself reminding him of unfinished tasks, even asking if the plumber had called that day, all while trying to delay the conversation to maintain the mood.
Back in September 2021, she also joked about negotiating with her husband for some help with putting the kids to bed in exchange for favors, highlighting the transactional nature their relationship can sometimes take amidst the chaos of parenting.
Sara Haines and Max Shifrin, who married in November 2014, are parents to three children: Alec, aged 9, Sandra, aged 8, and Caleb, aged 6.
