Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour Star Jan Ravnik Shakes Up ‘Dancing With the Stars’ Season 34

Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour dancer, Jan Ravnik, has been announced as a new professional dancer for Season 34 of “Dancing With the Stars”.

“Mirrorball never goes out of style, and we are ready to win it,” Ravnik declared during a live broadcast on “Good Morning America” this Thursday, shortly after Swift announced her engagement to Travis Kelce just two days prior.

Ravnik gained significant popularity on the Eras Tour when videos of the charismatic backup dancer began trending online.

After the tour concluded in December, Ravnik expressed his gratitude to Swift via an Instagram post, thanking her for transforming his life. “Performing in sold-out stadiums worldwide was beyond my wildest dreams. Each night, I performed with the most dedicated, creative, and passionate team,” he shared.

He added, “Thanks to Taylor for setting such a high standard that we all strived to meet. We’ve built lasting memories, laughed, and cried together. I am not the same person I was two years ago, and these have been the best years of my life.”

Notably, the Eras Tour featured choreography by Mandy Moore, who was a guest judge on “Dancing With the Stars” during the show’s “Taylor Swift Night” in November 2023. She praised Swift’s vision and creative direction, stating, “It was challenging to prepare so many routines in such a short period, but it was an incredible experience every day.”

Aside from his recent fame on the Eras Tour and his appearance in the “Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour” concert film, Ravnik boasts an impressive dance resume. The Slovenian dancer has performed with stars like Mariah Carey, Bruno Mars, and Paula Abdul and has appeared on prestigious stages such as the Oscars and the Billboard Music Awards. He has also won numerous national, European, and world championship titles.

More recently, Ravnik collaborated with Jenna Johnson, the reigning mirrorball champion, on a stunning contemporary dance to Kelly Clarkson’s cover of Billie Eilish’s “Happier Than Ever,” which Ravnik choreographed. The performance received accolades from fellow “DWTS” pros and past contestants alike, sparking rumors among fans about his possible participation in the upcoming season.

Amidst speculation, there were reports that Ravnik would be “replacing” longtime pro Gleb Savchenko. However, sources clarify that he is joining as a fresh addition to the lineup, not as a replacement.

The full roster of celebrities and professional dancers for Season 34 will be revealed on “Good Morning America” on September 3.

While ABC has remained tight-lipped about casting rumors, four celebrities have been confirmed to compete for the coveted Len Goodman Mirrorball Trophy this fall. Among them are wildlife conservationist Robert Irwin, influencer Alix Earle, and Jen Affleck and Whitney Leavitt from “The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives.”

Earle, 24, and Irwin, 21, were seen exiting a rehearsal studio in Los Angeles recently. “Dance Time,” Earle shared on Instagram Stories, accompanied by a selfie from the dance floor and a teaser video about meeting her dance partner soon.

Affleck, 26, and Leavitt, 32, have also been active on social media, sharing clips of their rehearsals on TikTok and Instagram.

“WE READYYYYYYYYY,” Leavitt noted in one video, indicating their excitement. “MOMTOK HAS ARRIVED!!!!” she exclaimed.

Derek Hough, a judge on the show, encouraged the duo, commenting, “Y’all look right at home Now get practicing,” while co-host Julianne Hough cheered them on, writing, “Werk ladies .”
