The Shires Become First UK Act to Win A CMA Award – Laura K.

British country music duo The Shires are one of the leading acts of the genre in the UK and now they have become the first ever British act to win a coveted CMA Award.

The group made up of Ben Earle and Crissie Rhodes have been awarded the prestigious CMA Jeff Walker Global Artist Award, which celebrates outstanding achievements by a country act originally signed outside of America.

The Shires were surprised with their award at the CMA Songwriters Series show which also featured Maren Morris and Drake White.

Speaking about their latest achievement The Shires said: “We are completely thrilled to win the CMA Jeff Walker Global Artist Award.
