After a two-year hiatus fans around the globe finally got the news they had all been waiting for in January of this year; Lady Antebellum were back. The multi-Grammy award winning trio consisting of Charles Kelley, Hillary Scott, and Dave Haywood, made their huge comeback at the start of 2017 with their brilliant jazz infused single ‘You Look Good’ which showed a musical growth from the band.
Along with the release of the massive hit single, they also announced plans for a June release of their brand new album ‘Heart Break’, and also confirmed details of a huge world tour.
And now Lady Antebellum have opened up about the process of making ‘Heart Break’ to Taste Of Country. Speaking to the website about their need to move away from Nashville in order to succeed, Charles Kelley said: “There was this time right after the summer where I just hopped on the bus with Dave and Hil and said ‘This isn’t right, y’all’.. We’re not there. We haven’t found it.”
Dave goes onto explain why they moved into a house in LA in order to record their comeback LP: “(We) Went to LA and lived in a house together in Hollywood, cooking and hanging out, laughing and drinking all day and having a good time and making music, and that’s the way we started 10 years ago, There were no babies to wash or household chores to worry about, and that meant everything.
While Hillary admits their maturity has helped with the recording process; “I think one beautiful thing about getting older is you do get more confident in your own skin. So I’d say more confident, but just as excited for sure — if not more so.”
Lady Antebellum’s new album ‘Heart Break’ is due for release on the 9th of June.
