US country music duo American Young will be returning to the UK later this month for an appearance at the British Country Music Awards. The pair are attending as they are nominated for the prestigious Best International Touring Act at this years ceremony.
Along with being nominated for the award, American Young have also released their brand new single ‘Better On You’. Here we speak to Jon and Kristy exclusively about their nomination, performing at the British Country Music Awards, new single, UK country, and much, more:
Congrats on being nominated Best International Touring Act at this year’s British Country Music Awards, when did you find out about your nom?
Our Manager had seen a post on Facebook that we had been nominated. He had called us and we were excited, and hope it meant that we would be going back to the UK.
You’re also performing at the awards, how excited are you about performing in front of a British audience?
We are extremely excited. The UK has been great to us. We’ve had the opportunity over the last couple years to tour the UK a few times and every time we come back we seem to have more and more fans. It means the world to us to see the support of music.
As a US act how are you feeling about the boom in UK country?
We love it. As a touring act you’re always looking to expand your audience reach and the fact that the UK is embracing US country and is having success with UK country artists is incredible. Country is such a great genre and it continues to unite fans all over the world!

The Shires, Gary Quinn, Ed Sheeran, Coldplay, Adele
