Lindi Ortega News (from Lesley Hastings)
When Lindi Ortega announced that her four track EP “ Til The Goin’ Gets Gone” was to be her farewell to a music industry she had grown disillusioned with fans were shocked to say the least. The Canadian born recording and touring artist had gained a massive following worldwide since her debut album “ Little Red Boots” was released in 2011 thanks to her distinctive vocals and writing style, and her shows were always a fun experience for her enthusiastic followers.
Spurred on by their messages of support and also being in a more positive frame of mind in general after making changes to her life which included moving back to Canada from Nashville and getting married , Lindi thankfully had a change of heart and yesterday she announced that she was going back into the studio to record another album, “What A Girl’s Gotta Do” (this track was on the aforementioned EP) which is scheduled for an April 2018 release and which will be crowd funded via a Kickstarter campaign.
“I want to continue creating music for those who have supported me along the way” she says, and she also talks of how liberating and rewarding it was to be able to take control of the creative process as she did with her E.P. despite the risks involved.
The new album will be her first to have a theme to it, the songs creating a story, but will still take inspiration for the “crazy wacky ideas” she has become associated with …….here is Lindi herself talking about the project ahead of her which runs til early December.
Lindi is about to undertake a tour of Australia and I’m sure I’m not alone in hoping she will return to the UK in 2018 to showcase her music, old AND new!
