Your Voice, Your Choice #24 – Native Run

Today we continue with a great new feature on Belles and Gals – “Your Voice, Your Choice”. We introduce one of our favourite songs from a country artist and then the artist tells us in turn about a song that has inspired them and has a special place in their heart. Today we feature US country duo Native Run.

‘Sleeping in the Bed I Made’ is the new single from US duo Native Run. The duo are formed of Rachel Beauregard and Brian Dawley from Virginia. Interestingly, the duo formed when mutual friends suggested they should play together and ‘magic started exploding everywhere’. The session went so well, they immediately booked a CD release show – long before they had a CD!

‘Sleeping in the Bed I Made’ is a gorgeous, emotional track which shows off the fantastic vocals of Rachel and the songwriting of the duo. I asked Rachel and Brian about the song:

“Sleeping In The Bed I Made” is inspired by our friends relationship. She devoted years of her life to this person, and out of the blue he ended things and began seeing someone else right away. This song is written from her perspective as she deals with a new woman benefiting from all the “work” she put into making him a better man.

Native Run have chosen ‘Joy to You Baby’ by Josh Ritter

They write:

We both love a song called “Joy To You Baby” by Josh Ritter! The song is about a relationship ending and finally arriving at the place where you want the best for the other person. It’s just a beautiful perspective on a really tough situation that we’ve all been through!
