Your Voice, Your Choice #37 – Beth Thornton

Today we continue with our popular “Your Voice, Your Choice” feature on Belles and Gals. We introduce one of our favourite songs from a country artist and then the artist tells us in turn about a song that has inspired them and has a special place in their heart. Today we feature UK country artist Beth Thornton!

Beth Thornton is a UK based singer-songwriter who’s incredible vocals pair perfectly with her country-rock inspired sound. Beth’s incredible vocal talent and songwriting skill surely do not go unnoticed, after winning a support slot for Bon Jovi at their arena show in Toronto, Canada in April of this year. Her debut single ‘Your Everything’ was released in January of this year, and peaked at number 3 on the UK itunes country chart. Following on from this success, Beth released ‘Something You Don’t Know’. A great tune that displays Beth’s ability to create the perfect blend of lyrics and melody. The best display of Beth’s talent and a personal favourite of mine is her incredible acoustic performance of ‘It don’t matter’ which you can see above.

Beth has chosen “Bette Davies Eyes” by Kim Carnes.

“When I listen to this song it makes me want to be the woman she’s singing about!” “My friend messaged me to listen to it and as soon as I heard it I thought “These lyrics are amazing!” That evening I learnt it and put a cover on Instagram. Whenever I have a day where I doubt myself I put that song on and it peps me back up!”
