Brennin ft. Vince Gill – ‘Rip off the Rearview”

Today’s we feature “Rip Off the Rearview” by Brennin ft. Vince Gill. We don’t often spotlight male artists but every once in a while a song is released that a site committed to all things belles and gal cannot ignore nor avoid shouting from the rooftops. This is one of those.
“The only thing standing in her way is a two year version of a one night stand, and a real good warning from his right hand. He says you know you’re the reason for the way I am…”
1 in 4 women experience domestic violence and abuse, the focus of this all too important song, story and video. Particularly important this song highlights the perils of emotional and verbal abuse, as well as the more recognisable physical abuse. Neither is ever OK.
If you or someone you know is experiencing domestic abuse, it is never too late to ask for help. Please call the 24hr freephone National Domestic Violence Helpline (run in partnership between Women’s Aid and Refuge) on 0808 2000 247 if you’re in the UK or the National Domestic Violence Hotline at 1-800-799-SAFE if you’re in the US.
While this evocative song makes me cry most times I hear it and I never tire of watching the video, it nonetheless has a captivating melody, strong vocals, smooth harmonies, and a guitar solo from legendary Vince Gill. So if you want to hear it again and again, download it off iTunes, where 50% of profits benefit the YWCA Nashville & Middle Tennessee.
