Spotlight on Darling West
Darling West are a Norwegian Country/Americana band fronted by Tor Egil Kreken and wife Mari Kreken. They play an excellent mix of americana, country and folk. I’ve been a fan of Darling West for a while, and was finally able to see perform at Oslo Americana Weekend. And what a show that was! I got to hear all my favourite Darling West songs live for the first time. It was quite emotional when they started with my long time favourite “After My Time”. As well as being fantastic singers, songwriters and musicians, they are really enjoyable to watch live with their entertaining jokes towards each other between the songs. They have been touring all across the world (SXSW in Austin, Texas, and Americana Fest in Nashville, Tennessee included), and this year they are headed to both Germany and the US on tour, so make sure you go see them! Let the chosen songs convince you.
