Yesterday it was announced that Clara Bond and Victoria Canal will be playing a joint headline show in London. Followers of Belles and Gals will know all about Clara already. Her ‘Out of Towners’ EP was one of the standout releases of the last few years and if you’ve been lucky enough to see Clara play live, you’ll know she has an incredible talent – completely at ease when commanding the stage and that wonderful, soulful voice.
Clara recently played a Belles and Gals show in London, where she stated on the night that this would be the final gig for ‘Out of Towners’ – and her focus now moves onto her upcoming EP release. If you head to the courtyard on the 16th May you’ll get to hear the first outings of some of the new songs.
Victoria Canal is one of the most interesting artists on the whole of the music scene. Completely independent and unsigned, Victoria is also highly respected as a versatile songwriter, producer, diverse model, humanitarian, and speaker, who tours the world. Victoria was born with one arm as a result of Amniotic Band Syndrome. By having daily challenges to overcome as a human being and musician, Canal holds on to her humanity and has made it her mission to help people understand that everyone is born differently, whether those differences are seen or not.
Over the past year, she has had the pleasure of promoting diversity in the corporate world, working both internally and commercially with companies including Toyota, Mastercard, TED, Powershift, Business Insider, and Angel City Sports, to name a few.. She is excited to be a part of the progress in representation, and speak on behalf of differently-abled people, women, Latino/a’s, and youth. Musically, Victoria is often compared to Alicia Keys and Tori Kelly, or called a female Allen Stone.
Together, Clara and Victoria promise to put on an amazing show – this is a gig not to be missed.
