Lauren Jane Releases ‘The Other Side’
On 4th October, Lauren-Jane released her second single from her upcoming album.
“The Other Side” is the follow up single to “If I Was Whiskey” and was recorded at Parr Street Studios, Liverpool and produced by Justin Johnson. I was able to catch up with Lauren-Jane this week whilst she was in studio at Parr Street for the tracking of 3 more songs and ask her a few questions…
Lauren, can you tell me what “The Other Side” is written about?
“The Other Side is written about a relationship that ended for a few different reasons, one of them being that he still wasn’t over a past girlfriend.”
We’re here in the studio whilst you are tracking some new music. What is your favourite thing about being in the studio?
“Getting to watch all the incredible session musicians work! They just make my songs sound so amazing!”
(Drums – Justin Johnson, Keys – Chris Howard, Guitars – Roo Walker, Bass – Jesse Eigen, Steel – Scott Poley)
Who are your musical influences?
“The person who inspired me to learn guitar and start to write was Kate Voegele, and then Jana Kramer and Kacey Musgraves inspired the Country in me. The feel for my album is inspired by Kacey’s first album – Same Trailer, Different Park, but I also get inspiration from traditional country artists like Kris Kristofferson and Johnny Cash, to current artists like Maren Morris, Brett Young and Ashley McBryde“
And when can we expect more music from you?
“My next single, “Wildfire”, which is the title track of my upcoming album, will be released in December. The album will be out in 2020!
Take a listen to “The Other Side” here…
