REVIEW: Twinnie’s ‘Lie To Me’
Following the release of the stunning live version of ‘Lie To Me’ back last month which was filmed at the Hoxton Studios in the city of London earlier this year, the UK’s latest bright country music light, Twinnie has today (November 8th) officially shared the breathtaking studio version of the track.
The stunning release is lifted off the York singer/songwriters forthcoming debut LP ‘Hollywood Gypsy’ which will be getting released in early 2020. The record is one of the most anticipated albums of the New Year and is set to put Twinnie on the map as the “next big thing” in country music.
With ‘Lie To Me’ the triple-threat performer tells the true-life story of heartbreak and wanting to be needed and lied to in order to avoid having your heart broken.
It’s a heartbreakingly beautiful track that showcases Twinnie’s outstanding vocal range and shines a light on the incredible songwriting talent she also possess. The country music genre is synonymous with tales of heartbreak and betrayal and this song fits into that box perfectly.
It has that classic county crossover vibe that Shania Twain was creating back in the early 90s and it could easily be a cut off ‘The Woman In Me’ CD soundtrack. It has a modern production and old school lyrics and takes the listener back to songs such as Twain’s ‘Home Ain’t Where His Heart Is (Anymore).
Twinnie weaves the story perfectly throughout and leaves us in awe of her breathtaking vocal range. That high note is absolutely spectacular and even more impressive is the fact she holds it for even longer when performing live. ‘Lie To Me’ also offers another side to the music we’re used to from the Brit star.
Gone is the crossover pop sounds of hits such as ‘Better When I’m Drunk’ and ‘Social Babies’ and instead we’re treated to the most pure country stylistics we’ve heard from Twinnie so far. She is a special talent and this release will no doubt gain her a huge new amount of fans.
